Grabbed a spot at the bar with a view of the water. It was a hot day but there was a slight breeze and a fan running. We ordered a grouper sandwich and the lunch special Baja chicken wrap. Both were excellent! The portion size was large and came with a trip to the cold, fresh salad bar. Beer was $5 per cup but we were drinking Blue Moon and it usually costs more. It was fairly busy with landlubbers and boaters to keep the people watching interesting. Overall a good experience!

It was exactly what we were looking for. Casual, kid friendly, not outrageous in prices, water views, and great service. Not easy to find but well worth it!

Great experience here. We sat outside next to the boat slips and the view is great. The kids had a blast watching the dolphins swimming in the waterway. This was a lunch so the typical fare of chicken fingers , hamburgers, and grilled cheese were big hits with the kids. I had the1/2 pound of peel and eat shrimp and they were large and tasty. The menu is very varied and has something for everyone. Our server Bill from Tewksbury, MA was great. Very accommodating and helpful. If you're into adult beverages, the drinks are made very well. We all enjoyed our frozen fruity drinks of different flavors. Snooks Inn was a winner in our books.

We just returned from a week-long Marco Island vacation and had dinner at the Snook Inn. Many of the guidebooks and visitor logs recommended dinner here. One of the nicest features is the location on the water. We were seated alongside a window and watch the boats coming and going. The service was good, and the food was ok .. nothing to write home about. The conch fritters were greasy and the seafood entrees were soaking in butter. The stuffing that's used to stuff fish/shrimp/etc. was subpar. There are certainly other options for seafood that we'd try again before returning. For boat owners, it is nice that you can park alongside the dock and walk right in.

If you are looking for an island-y feel restaurant with a great view, good food, and live music, this is the place! The drinks are about 8-10 dollars each but you get a glass, along with an extra one with the remainder of what was left in the blender! (Never had that before!) makes it a little more worth the money. We enjoyed the ambiance and food along with the beautiful sunset feel! Enjoyed sitting on the top deck and watching for dolphins and manatees while we waited for our table. It was very much worth the drive from Naples! Mahi Mahi blackened was good and you get a side and the salad bar with every meal!

We went here for our first anniversary and the hostess was so rude. She just looked at me and said "inside or outside?" and walked towards a table. I smiled and said "It's our anniversary!" and she mumbles "happy anniversary" while looking away and slaps the menus on the tables. My husband didn't like the location of the table so we picked up our menus & walked to a better table. Sourpuss comes over and tells us that the table we chose was reserved for the owners and we needed to move. We picked another table (instead of walking out the door) and thankfully our waitress was friendly & treated us well. The salad bar was really good, the grouper was wonderful! Cons: lots of flies. The restaurant needs to lose Sourpuss or lose business. The food is delicious! P.S. They did nothing to help make our anniversary special...memorable, maybe. But for the wrong reasons.

This place is supposed to be so famous, but all we can say is, definitely not worth the drive, or money! We had a party of 8 & when we checked in, the host was so rude to us! He seemed extremely irritated to have a large group. They sat us at 2 tables, back to back. Ok, it's a big party & you don't have a table big enough. One from our group went back out & asked if there was anyway we could all sit together, even if it were 2 tables but beside each other. The host literally yelled at her & said we were already sat & we were staying where we were. The problem was, we had 2 different waitresses & one table ordered & had their food before the second table even placed their order. The salad bar is extremely lacking! The table in front of us told us how sad it was as well. Our grouper was very good, but one girl in our party ordered chicken, which arrived still almost raw. And, don't order the ice tea, because you'll get a light brown water. Horrible tea! The frozen drinks we questioned whether there was actually alcohol in them. All in all, this place will be on our "Will Not Return" list!

Family and I stayed in Marco Island for 2 nights, and went to the Snook Inn both nights. We got the recommendation from a local, and were really happy we went to Snook Inn. The food is great, and the people who work there are really friendly. They were really great with our daughter, who loved the live music. The scenery is also beautiful and the views are great.

I really like snook for the atmosphere. It's on the water, you can see Dolphins, sit outside, watch boats, enjoy the sun, listen to performers, chill under grass umbrellas and get a good drink at their tiki bars. Their food is good, simple seafood that is fresh. I would recommend coming here for a casual dinner or lunch especially when it is nice out. Get the soft shelled crab burger!

  • Amanda S.

I love the Snook Inn! There is always a crowd, but it's always a good time! What's better than east coast seafood? East coast seafood served on the water, under a tiki bar, with mojitos and live music! :) The tiki bar is actually a bit smokey for me but I love sitting at the sunny tables overlooking the ocean. Snook in is accessible by car or boat on lovely Marco Island. Since I haven't eaten at too many places on Marco, I can't quite compare how the food stacks up, but the food is always good for a nice lunch or happy hour. (Very casual fare) Free salad bar with every meal! Salad bar is packed with fresh pickles, green salad, pasta salad, bean salad, tomato salad and many others, Yum! I always leave here stuffed. At $10-$20 a plate, I also find snook inn to be very reasonable! They are usually on a wait so I love to grab a drink at the bar and head to the upstairs deck for some sightseeing while I'm waiting for a table. Wish it was closer!

We stopped up at Snook Inn for dinner based on a recommendation from my parents. We were looking to eat some seafood (specifically grouper) and this place is said to have one of the best Grouper Sandwiches on the Island. We arrived at about 645 on Saturday night and there was a wait to eat on the outside by the water but we were starving so we opted to eat inside, which was no wait and still a decent view of the water. The inside part of the restaurant was a bit cramped but it was cool that it was such a lively place. Our server (didn't catch her name) brought our drinks promptly (frozen lemonade and mojito were very good!). After giving our server the order we were offered the salad bar which came included with our meals! It starts with a big barrel of pickles (not my cup of tea but my girlfriend and her sister loved it). It's a pretty standard salad bar but the end consists of fresh loaves of bread that you can cut for yourself. The salad was fresh and hit the spot as a starter. Our food came out in exceptional time and I had the blackened grouper sandwich and let me tell you, that sandwich was worth the 24 hour drive from Ohio, freaking fantastic. Great spice and flavor, wonderful bread bun and the potato fries are exactly how I would pick to eat french fries. This place is top notch! The server was wonderful and very accommodating to our excited 3 year old (great place for kids to eat). The food and drinks were wonderful and the views were beautiful. Hope to come back again on the trip!

Stopped by happy hour. At $4.50 for a piña colada, it sounded good but drinks were very weak in flavor and little alcohol. There are a lot of good happy hours in the area that are better than this

I have been coming to this place for 25 years and it has never let me down. I have never had to send anything back or even had slow or bad service. The food is delicious. The fish is always fresh and the scenery is spectacular. This is one of my top 10 for sure!!!

Second time back. I had and excellent prepared mako filet last time I was there and just the other night a delicious shrimp Denny. I will be back to try something new. You can't beat the salad bar included with entrees. This should be your go to local seafood restaurant on Marco. Consistent great fresh seafood.

  • Valarie G.

Great (if divey) ambiance and service. This is definitely a local treasure. The seafood is pretty good. Order lots of fish! The wine and beer list are lacking but it is more of a cheap beer place anyway. Sit outside - inside is stuffy and dated. The salad bar could also use an upgrade. They also need to replace the bands they have. They tend to be loud but not talented.

Decor - old. but if the foods good, who cares? Service - eh Salad bar - close to pitiful Frozen Drinks - no bueno Appetizers - ok Mahi Mahi lemon pepper Sandwich & Mahi Mahi charbroiled dinner plate - Awesome (Imagine our surprise) Overall - way over priced for the dining experience. If Mahi Mahi is your last meal on earth request, it's worth it. Just order it for take out.

Wasn't impressed with this joint. It seemed like a total tourist trap. Outdoor seating is nice but very buggy and there was a storm when we sat down. Also very confusing watching two wasted bro's stomping around the bar, then get into their docked boat, blast the music (while a paid performer was in the middle of his set) and be total menaces. Management came over when they had a verbal confrontation with other patrons who were sick of their crap but they seemed to side with the drunk idiots? I'm guessing because they spent a on of money at that place getting wasted. Not okay to let customers drink and drive a boat.

This place is a Marco Island landmark and & classic! If you've never been, whether just visiting or a local SWFloridian, you've gotta make your way to the Snook Inn..."Where the best of times begin". So this place is super casual, even bathing suit, cover up & flip flops casual, or a nice shirt & jeans works too; I feel comfortable here no matter the vibe. You can arrive here by boat or car which is not only convenient but super awesome for us boaters! About 6-8 docks. As soon as you get of the boat, a huge outdoor bar, live music (half of the time), & tons of picnic type tables with umbrellas greet you...remember the heat is brutal here folks! Sit outside at your own risk! And remember to head to the front of the restaurant TO HAVE A HOST SEAT YOU...don't be that person who just seats themselves... The food here is constantly great. Always fresh seafood, always served hot and in a timely manner. Almost all entrees come with a trip to the salad bar...now it's nothing fancy, but damn is it good! Don't forget to grab a barrel pickle, broccoli &/or pasta salads & slice your own fresh bread at the end of the salad bar. Ok, so escargot is not an easy find...BUT THIS PLACE HAS THE MOST AMAZING, 5 STAR, BUTTERY, EPIC ESCARGOT. This was the first place I ever had it, and it's never as good anywhere else I go, an absolute must try. Besides that the conch fritters are an amazing app too, another favorite. I've had fish & chips, fresh lobster, lots of different things here over the years that are really wonderful...but...Shrimp Denny is my all time favorite. Shrimp, stuffed with scallops, wrapped in bacon, breaded, fried & served with hollandaise. Definitely a Snook Inn signature. It never fails to leave me satisfied. Ok, so I'm done telling you how amazing the food and atmosphere is...the service is always pretty good too, anywhere from average to above average. Don't forget to grab a cocktail too! The Snook Inn has been a staple this long, and I pray it's there forever. Make your way down there next time your in the area, you'll be glad you did

I had recently had their claims, which were frozen and chooey. The calamari was no better. Do not go here

I love Snook Inn. I have been coming here every year for as long as I can remember. I am reading the reviews and I have to disagree. This place has its flaws, yes, but the food and atmosphere are a perfect fit for Marco. It has an outdoor ticki hut and indoor seating if he weather is bad. The fish is super fresh, I always get the grouper fingers. They also have a salad bar which I'm a sucker for. It's as laid back as it can get...I go in a tank top. That's how it should be when your on vacation at the beach. The people who are expecting fine dining and perfect service should go back to Morton's or some other fancy place in Miami. This place is for good fish, some drinks near the water, and some good like tunes - mostly oldies.

  • Jessalyn B.

There's a lot of hype about the Snook Inn, and it was good enough, but not the best I ate during my time at Marco Island. The only truly delicious things anyone in my party had were blackened salmon and a peach daiquiri. The outside vibe is really fun - eat out there if you can.

A fun place right on the water in Old Marco. I had the fried grouper sandwich, and it was good. It came with a trip to the salad bar, which was very nice. We stopped in after a six-hour fishing trip, so we were hot, hungry, and thirsty. The food here is decent, not great, but the atmosphere and outdoor seating/bar make up for it. Give it a try.

  • Brian A.

We needed a light lunch after driving over from the keys. Of course, we sat by the water on some rather uncomfortable picnic benches. We just had appetizers and a drink. It was okay. I had baby back ribs and she had peel I and eat shrimp. Not bad. Not great. Maybe we'll try again before we leave.

View and music - 5 stars Everything else - 2 or 3 stars Long wait but enjoyed every moment of it on the dock area sipping tropical drinks with good friends. Food was just ok - service also. But as many other reviewers say, just make sure to go for the right reasons and it will be hard to be disappointed.

Drinks and food were standard, and the service was horrific. The servers seemed to be pawning our table off amongst each other because we had two come over claiming they weren't our server but could get our drinks started. We didn't know right away, so she rushed off and didn't come back for 10 minutes. After we got our drinks a different server came over to ask if we were getting dinner. I opened the menu to reference which items I wanted to ask about, and she rolled her eyes and stormed off yet again, and we overheard her complaining that we weren't ready yet. As someone who has worked in the food industry, this is absolutely NOT how you treat customers. You're on the clock and getting paid, so wait until your shift is over to complain. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the ambiance was exactly what we were looking for...tiki bar theme right on the water. Also, the live music was great :)

Before we came to Marco Island several people told us to eat at Snooks Inn. So off we went finding a fun place at a great location on the water. Our waitress was really nice and explained how the Happy Hour drinks worked (4-6pm) and what she felt were some of the better things on the menu. So off to the bar (there is a small one away from the big one which was not busy) to get ANY drink at 50% off. What a deal as prices were already reasonable. All of us decided on the Grouper fingers and were not disappointed at all. Good portion size and very tasty. Included is a salad bar that reminds me of the 1980's style. Not bad but has some classic choices and some terrific pickles. We sat by the water and watched Dolphins swim by and listened to some local musicians who were not bad. If it is raining there is plenty of inside seating but sit outside if you can. But be aware smoking is at least allowed at the bar.

Best time ever! The manager and the entire team are awesome! Such a great time...great food, live bad, amazing service! And to top it all off.. My flip flop broke and the manager got a stapler and stapled my flip flop! Jerta our waitress was also great! Definitely a place we will come back for years to come!

This is a casual beachy restaurant. Nothing fancy. I had the shrimp burger which was very good. The salad bar that comes with the dinners is just ok. Drink specials for happy hour only apply at the bar outside, which has live music most nights, however it was a bit loud for dinner, so we ate inside

  • Kate T.

Service was good, ambiance okay. The view is really it's main attraction. Calamari Well fried. Very tasty. They were not chewy, but very tender. Dipping sauce was okay. All you can eat salad bar VERY good. All the dressings are homemade. Really liked the raspberry vinaigrette. Broiled Seafood Combo with Sweet Potato The scallops and crab stuffing were DELICIOUS. The fish were good & the shrimp was meh. Some of it was very oily. There was a lot of food. Sweet potatoes were done right. Good meal. Full slab of ribs with baked potato Ribs were okay. Too thin. Didn't have a ton of meat on them. Wouldn't order this from here again. Scallops blackened with French fries Had a nice kick once you ate them. It was a great meal. They cooked the scallops to perfection. Shrimp Your Way (oriental) Crunchy. Excellent. It was very fresh and the batter they used to fry them was great. All in all it was good not great. If I came back I'd stick with the scallops & shrimp!

Always a hit , and always a stop for any trip to Marco. Either park car or boat, it is worth the visit anytime of the day. It is a party once the live music. Locals eat here as well as tourist. Enough said

A nice place for reasonably priced seafood and drinks. On the plus side: -- Great view. -- Casual, friendly atmosphere. Seems like a lot of locals hang out there. -- The big outdoor bar is inviting: you just want to sidle up there and drink a beer. -- Loved the peel-and-eat shrimp and escargot. Simple, delicious food. -- Moderate pricing was a real joy after downtown Naples, where entrees easily run over $40. On the minus side: -- Salad bar had no pizzaz. Glad I skipped it. -- Outdoor seating not especially comfortable. All in all, this is a place we would definitely return to the next time we're in Naples. It's fun and has an extensive menu to explore. Also, the location is just over the bridge from the mainland, so you don't have to deal with the Marco Island traffic (currently there's big construction bottlenecks on the main road).

The location is great! We sat outside - A Tiki bar feel on the water. Live music is also great but that's were the greatness ends!! The food is marginal at best and overpriced for the low quality that it is. The salad bar is pathetic, it's iceberg lettuce with a choice of like 7 toppings that don't really go together and half of which I wouldn't even put on a salad. We had the seafood buffet which at first seems like a lot of good options but after a few bites we soon discovered most dishes were flavorless. We also got a broiled grouper with scallops, it was drowning in butter and covered with old bay seasoning. (How imaginative!?) They also forgot to put the scallops on the plate and had to remind her to bring them twice. They came out nearly at the end of the meal and what she brought was 3 scallops the size of peanuts on a white saucer. As others have said the wait staff really makes you feel as though you are bothering them when you show up to eat there. The ONLY time our server cracked a smile or was even remotely personable was when she brought the check. Listen sweetheart, if you're a grumpass all thru out my meal then don't bother to find a personality as you drop off the check in hopes that I'll forget and come thru with a 20% tip-- cuz I won't! If you want a sea side dining experience then just grab a couple of chairs and some takeout from your favorite restaurant (not this place)-- you'll have a much better experience, trust me!

  • Noah P.

The waitress and seating staff were pretty rude and unfriendly. The food was not very good for somewhere that claims to be a seafood place their seafood is not very good. Overall I wouldn't recommend it to another person nor do I recommend a visit here.

This place had been talked up by a ton of people prior to my visit down to Marco Island and I'm so glad that we were able to make it there. We started out with about a 45 minute wait; that only turned out to be around 30 minutes and plenty of time to grab a few drinks at the bar overlooking the water. Our table was ready to go and we sat down right on the dock and got to see all the action right as the sun was going down. Even though we were there out of season, there were plenty of people around, tourists and locals. You can always tell a local when they are there with their boat parked and sitting there with no shirt at the bar. That is my type of spot for Florida! The drinks where just fine -- everything is measured out pretty much to the T when it comes to pours but we thought the food was great. I got the snapper that was grilled and all of our table had a great meal. They had full plates, plenty of drinks to share and the sunset that night was better then the other evenings we had been in Florida. I'm so glad we took the time to make it out to the Snook Inn and I certainly recommend it for anybody that is coming down to Marco Island or the Naples/Fort Myers area.

Hit and miss food. The fried grouper was good. The fried alligator was over cooked and rubbery. The "salad bar" is little more than some iceberg lettuce and a few toppings. The service was okay. Nice folks but far from attentive. The location was okay. Although I've got to say the whole "dining by the water" thing is a bit overblown. All it amounts to is sitting on a picnic table next to a boat dock. The live music and tiki hut made for a nice environment. All in all, the place is kind of meh. It was okay but no reason to come back.

OK. So I admit, I'm a little bit of a Snook Inn groupie. We've been coming to Marco for over 20 years and EVERYONE that knows me, knows the Snook is my favorite place on the island. The wait on a weekend can be pretty long, but well worth it, so head to the bar and order a drink and enjoy the live music while you wait for a table Tonight, I ordered my usual, broiled Grouper with beans and rice- that's what I always order and it's always so yummy. Love the salad bar. Also love the ambiance of a South Florida/chickee bar on the water, with dolphins going by while you eat type of place. You can't really beat this! Will definitely be back a few more times this trip......

Always a great place for food, drinks, live music, dolphin sightings, etc. Such a fun and lively place to eat! Love the grouper fingers and coconut shrimp. I never leave Marco Island without going to Snook Inn.

Expect a long wait (as in an hour plus), but it is well worth it. The clam strips are the BEST this side of Ipswich, Massachusetts. The salad bar is a little short on the offerings but super fresh. Always a fun and friendly crowd.

  • Jeffrey D.

I wish I could go to 3.5, as 3 is a bit lower than I want. The food is just ok - not bad, not great. I had the scallops, broiled - they seemed a bit "off", not the sweet taste I am used to with scallops from cold waters, served fresh. My wife had the stuffed grouper, She like it, but felt is was a bit rich, overly smothered with the sauce that accompanies the dish. Other members of our party went with the fried fish - sandwich and platter; both were satisfied with the dish. For the quality of the food, the entrees seem overpriced. Atmosphere is fantastic - island life. Music, fun time - on the water. The salad bar is basic. If you like pickles, you will like the salad bar. We go back a few times a year, mostly for the environment and entertainment. The food is the secondary reason we go.

Fun bar time. Food not so great. Poor salad bar. Place to be and be seen is sitting at the outside bar. Y be in Florida and not be sitting outside.

Have you ever been to Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island in the Lake Erie islands of Ohio? This is it to a tee!!! Island atmosphere, guy with guitar singing Jimmy Buffet music and picnic table style dining outside. Very casual, enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere outside, but nothing about this place makes me want to go back. The inside is dark and dinghy and I'd never want to eat in there. The blackened grouper and black beans with rice was good, but not great. The salad bar was very disappointing. The high price of the meal, for the establishment, was disappointing. I'm not a restaurant snob and I love dirty dining sometimes, but not this place.

  • Jessy C.

Don't eat here. Go anywhere else. I loved being in Marcos island but I did not love eating here. The salad bar had soggy cucumbers and soggy tomatoes maybe from the day before. They would b better off not offering the salad bar at all gross. My son ordered chicken fingers which where obviously frozen food for $11. Same kind they sell at mamas fried chicken for $4. Severely over rated. They do not value their business or our money. You've been warned. Loved the key lime martini. Although on the weak side, I was impressed with how close it tasted to a key lime pie.

We took our annual pilgrimage to the Snook and as always was a little disppointed. In the end the Snook breaks down to this: You come here to sit by the water, drink island drinks, and take in the view and ambience. If your coming for the food and service, forget it. The food is over priced and marginal at best and the service just plain sucks. The same waitresses that have been waiting tables since we first came here 20 years ago are still waiting tables. And whatever was bugging them back then-is still bugging them now because they haven't changed. They only thing that has changed are the teenaged girls that take your name and tell you it's a 90 minute wait. Their still snot nosed, but different each year. Take my advice. Go to the Snook for the right reasons. Just be careful for what they are. And don't bother complaining to anyone, the place prints money and they don't care. Why should they? Enjoy.

We needed a quick late lunch and found the place. The grouper sandwich was delicious and the shrimp burger was wonderful. Salad bar is a bit skimpy as is the decor but good service and a quick serve made us very happy. Nice view of the boats going down the river and birds diving for their own meal made it interesting.

I have never had a bad meal here. Waterfront dining with both indoor and outdoor options. All entrees come with a very nice salad bar where you can load up. I have had both the fresh catch mai and snapper blackened here and it was very good a filling. They come with a starch, which makes it a nicely balanced meal. Service isn't bad and depending on the time of year you can either wait five minutes or an hour. Boos are well priced.

Long waiting time, poor service (waiter couldn't entertain more than one question before leaving), and food was OK, not exceptional. Not horrible, yet could be FAR better.

Have been to Snook Inn before and had average food. Today was different. Ordered the Mahi Mahi lunch platter and it was the most awful food I have ever had on Marco Island. The fish was grey and fatty and slimy. Not sure what kind of fish it was but could not eat it, much less look at it. When we informed the waitress, she said it was probably cut from a different part of the fish. Then they insulted us by offering a 10% discount that we already got by being a member of MICA. It was not the waitress' fault but the management could have been more caring and responsive. We live here and will not eat at Snook Inn again.

We love this place! The staff is always friendly, the selection on the menu is great- there is something for every taste. Kids' menu is also very good. Personally I can highly recommend their salads, they are excellent. We had the pleasure of being here quite a few times and we were never disappointed! Great place with great food, served by great people! Highly recommend!

Hands down, one of the best restaurants on the island. If you go, please do yourself a favor and seat outside where you may be able to watch dolphins in their natural habitat. We were lucky enough to see one during our lunch. We also got to see a number of great yachts within a few feet from us. The food was quite spectacular...I ordered the fish tacos with mahi-mahi fish..They were served with rice, beans, and a salad. I absolutely loved them! My wife ordered stuffed shrimp - a total of 5 or 6 stuffed with deliciously fresh crab meat. I very much look forward to returning to this place when I come back to the island.

Summary: If you haven't been here, you have to go. Perfect setting, overlooking a very active Marco River, and you can see Isles of Capri across the river. The food is wonderful -- I always get fried shrimp! You get a salad bar, too, way too much to eat. Wonderful atmosphere, and you can watch crazy boaters try to dock and watch all the lovely boat traffic and watch the funny snook in the water. It doesn't get any better. Oh! I forgot! The salad bar has beets, pickles and potato salad! Where else except Paradise ...

Service was friendly but food was not that great. Overpriced for what the quality. Atmosphere was nice right on the water but would not visit again...price & quality not worth the view

One of our favorite dinner locations during our week on Marco. The blackened swordfish was very good. My kids enjoyed the salad bar and the giant dill pickles. Get there early and sit outside to enjoy the entertainment and sunset.

Right up front - I'm going to say that I'd probably give this place 5 stars if it weren't for the young, emotionless, incommunicable, brunette hostess up front and the blatant disinterest she had in her job or the customers. We put our name in (with our 3-yr old son) to sit outside and she didn't mention the wait. After about 10 minutes, I asked what the wait was and she replied, "45 minutes to an hour." I suppose that would be some important information you'd want to share with someone, esp with a child! So, we reluctantly asked to sit inside and she took us right in to a table. The crazy thing was, just 10 minutes afterwards, a group of 4-5 walked by to look outside (they'd put their name in after us) and all of a sudden, the hostess comes in and tells them that their seat outside is ready. I overhear one of the people in the group say, "Wow, that was a lot faster than 45 minutes!" We REALLY wanted to sit outside at this place - and since it was our last night here, it kinda sucked that we couldn't, and apparently, because this employee somehow made a mistake. I have no idea what her problem was, but enough about the horrible employee. You can't flame the review of a restaurant due to one employee's actions, so there... I said it. Now, onto the "deserved" review: It's probably pretty obvious at this point that I wish I would've known this place got so crazy busy - I would've made a reservation. The outdoor seating is great, along with the beautiful scenery on the bay and the soothing, nightly live music. Unfortunately, we got stuck inside. The food was great. I got the salad with wasabi sauce. Absolutely amazing. The shrimp cocktail was good, but not jumbo shrimp, so just know that going into it. For me, I just need something to chew the horseradishy cocktail goodness with anyway. The cocktails were wonderful as well - a huge selection. In the end, getting stuck inside definitely made us focus on the food more than the scenery. The good news is, the food gets an A+. Go reserve a seat outside and you'll probably be back again the same week.

We ran into Snook Inn as we were looking for something different from all the other restaurants on the island...Don't expect nice service here. We ordered so much food and had to consistently ask for things and support. Seemed like a tip was not necessary. Food was same as all Fresh Catch type of places serving raw, grilled, fried seafood. Salad bar was average with no extraordinary selection. Over fried fries. Very tasty grilled Mahi sandwitches. Overall an Average experience on food, great live music, poor staff. When busy valet is best.

We got here somewhat early for lunch at 11:30. Were seated right away. The salad bar was excellent. Make sure you get some of the kosher pickles out of the barrel. I had the lobster and shrimp mac & cheese and my wife had the seafood scampi. Both dishes were excellent. The seafood was done just right. The place really filled up rapidly but our service was good.

A great location. Had sandwiches, but overall the food was good! The location was great and the kids were treated to a dolphin show on the dock. Salad bar was nice. I know all Marco restaurants are frequented by the aging, but this place had an interesting vibe with lots of older "drinkers" at the bar. If it says anything, we are considering a return over the mediocre reviews I'm seeing on other properties!

After a long day of sailing, we couldn't dock the boat quick enough to get inside this shanty and fill up on local seafood. The location alone is fantastic--the spectacular mangroves and water-side homes make for a scenic ride to and from. The first thing I noticed was that is was absolutely packed--a good sign. Even the seagulls couldn't keep away (don't worry, they didn't come that close to the dining areas). We ate outside, because why would you ever want to eat inside on a sunny day by the ocean? You wouldn't. The salad bar that came with my sandwich was traditional and unique, too--all the usual fixings plus yummy cucumber salad, coleslaw and bread. I had never had a po' boy sandwich, but the fried oysters on mine were simply splendid. The batter was crispy and crunchy and thick, but I could still find and taste the beautiful oysters underneath. I found that the amount of bread was a bit overwhelming and overpowering, but after carving the soft bread out of the inside, it was much more manageable. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, and for being an outdoor setting, out table was clean and comfortable.

Food was terrible, mixed drinks had no alcohol, and the waitress was almost completely absent from the table. She never asked how the food was or whether we wanted the check. Will not come back here even though it is super close to where we are staying.

We went last Friday evening and had a wonderful time! Our calamari appetizer and blackened fish entree were absolutely delicious but their salad bar leaves a bit to be desired with too many unhealthy options and not enough fresh ones. However, that is the only drawback in my opinion. The bartenders were super friendly, engaging and professional. Drinks are fairly priced and the bar staff ensures you are not parched, ever. Live music was entertaining but the crowd watching was the real show! It is a must visit while in Marco.

Great location! Saw about 5 dolphins out in the bay area before the downpour hit and they closed in the outside seating area. Food was OK. For a fish place on the gulf, I expected more. None of it was bad, mind you. I just expected more. Cocktails were good. It was happy hour when we went and we saw no list, at least that we saw, of what was covered for happy hour. Apparently our two drinks were not on the "list". Go for the view and the ambiance, not necessarily for the food.

I really like this place. Good food, live music, great location on the water. Salad bar was fresh and clean with a lot to choose from. Burger was ok nothing special about it. What I did like was the tomatoes were nice and ripe. Will be back

I came by boat, came by car even had drinks at the chickee bar. like the commercial said I've even seen dolphins drunks and live music. Surprising to me salad bar is OK. But the breaded tenderloin pork sandwich is one of my favorites, along with the BBQ pork sandwich. Most every sandwich is $10.50 to 15.00 with choice of fries, black beans or veggie. But that's not all! It also include the salad bar too. Bring your own fish fillets and they will cook it for 13.00. I'm also a fan of the blue crabs. light crisp and full of flavor.

You can read the whiney-ass people who didn't like their drinkee poos, or you can just go to a GREAT physical setting ON the water, with really good FRIED food (I know, but it is really GOOD fried food) and decent drinks, in, yes, plastic cups, but you get practically 2 for the price of one. Just go, and if you are a prima freaking donna, don't go anywhere ever, because you will alwyas be crying and moaning about something anyway.

My family and I had a great lunch here. We arrive just before 12 noon and got a great table inside with a nice view because it was a rather cool day. Food and service was good. Basically everything tasted good cluding the salad bar which was included in the meal. We will definitely go back if we had the time and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

This restaurant is a place we continue to go back to each year - and sometimes I don't know why. The views are amazing - so it's hard to pass up. The drinks are good - the staff is friendly. But the food is just ok. If you are sitting outside, be prepared for lots of bugs. If you sit inside, be prepared for a weird fishy smell. The Seafood Buffet is simply not worth it. I hear people complain about it all the time. I had it once just for the crab legs. But they are so small it was just too much work to eat. The Salad Bar is enjoyable. We've had almost everything on the menu over the years. Fried shrimp is good - and the mini crab cake sliders are great. But I get the feeling there's not a lot of meat involved. Happy Hour at the bar is pretty good - half priced drinks if you pay in cash. There's typically live entertainment outside - with some dude pretending to be Jimmy Buffett. Again - decent place - we come each year. It just could be so much better.

On a recommendation from a local we stopped here for drinks and dinner on our first night on the island. We almost immediately saw 3 dolphins. Then the live music was great. Then the food was... well the food was fine. My grouper sandwich was average, but not amazing. I don't remember what the rest of the table said about their meals, but the consensus was about where I stand. But we sat outside, under a roof. There were screens that drop if the wind picks up, but mostly everything is open. We saw people feeding their bread to catfish and a snook (apparently the fish this place is named after) and on each of our three visits over our 1 week stay we saw either dolphins or a manatee. Honestly, this is as good as it gets. The food is not disappointing, but it won't blow your socks off. But the atmosphere is great with live music lots of nights and incredibly friendly people ready to talk about you where you are from and what you like doing and where you are going. I will be back next time I am in Marco.

It's a good thing this place is directly on the water. Other than the great view, our experience was moderate at best. First off, the salad bar is just plain bad. Marinated mushrooms from a jar, funky tasting potato salad and a few broccoli florets and cucumber slices to choose from. Boo. Most things tasted like they came pre-packaged from a warehouse. I forgave this first turn off. Food: As we sat outside on the dock and listened to the live music assault my ears, I ordered a mixed drink ($8) and was disappointed immediately. It didn't taste like it had ANY alcohol in it. At all. I should have given it back to the waitress but I hate to make a situation uncomfortable like that. The grouper special was cooked decently and tasted fresh however it was bland as a piece of white bread and very small. The soft shelled crab had the same bland breading as the grouper and came on a dry old roll and some tomato and lettuce with a side of black beans and rice that were neither tasty or enjoyable. Price For two sandwiches, an order of conch fritters and a fruit slushy-I mean margarita, the damage was $65 with tip. Service The hostess and our waitress were prompt and very nice. Very laid back and personable which I like. They were one of the best things about the whole experience! I hate being so disappointed. I wanted to like this place a lot. Perhaps next time I will ensure my drinks actually have alcohol in them, and maybe the food and live entertainment will be better...

Went here on vacation from NY visiting marco island. This place was nothing to write home about. The food was okay but not great. The outdoor seating was nice since it was right on the water but the drawback are the birds constantly trying to get your food. I had the lobster Mac n cheese since you don't see that everywhere. It was good.

My husband and I always go to Snook when we visit Marco. This year, we didn't eat here, just had drinks at the bar. Our reason to go there is to enjoy sitting outside an watching the boats coming in on the Marco River. The staff working at the bar have been there for a long time, and remember us from year to year and are very friendly. If you are there anytime other than happy hour, drinks are very pricey, but you do have the live entertainment after happy hour ends. Beware if you are eating outside, lots of bugs. You will be annoyed by them. If you are eating inside, it smells fishy, and it has for years. Snook is a Marco tradition, so you should at least visit there once and form your own opinion. Service has always been good here. Views from bar and outdoor patio are fabulous and very relaxing just being there.

OK, I love this place. Upgraded to five stars. Why? Because we haven't had a trip to Marco Island without visiting Snook Inn at least once. It's now an official family tradition, and a visit to Marco without a visit to Snook Inn would feel incomplete. That says something. The dining room is old and worn-out. There's live music, sometimes pretty good. There's usually lots of hubub and activity about. It's a bit of a throwback, and has its own charm. The waitstaff is courteous and prompt. What's more to love than that? Just having a reasonably-trained waitstaff deserves five stars these days. The food is good. My wife always gets the broiled seafood platter, which includes crab-stuffed grouper and scallops. I've had numerous selections, sometimes featuring some overcooked fish, so I steer away from broiled fish and choose scallops or other seafood offerings.

We eat here every year we're here and never have a complaint. Outdoor seating is great. The salad bar is awesome. Have tried triple tail fish, mahi mahi, ribs, steak, chicken; all very good and at a good price.

Just dined here on our trip to Marco Island. In all fairness I wasn't sure what to expect and went based off of friends recommendations. It's a true "fun dive bar" atmosphere and I think I would have liked it better had we been able to sit outside. The wait was long so we opted to eat indoors. Bad choice! We were surrounded by families/spring breakers with unruly screaming kids which makes any dining experience less than great. I hate it though when restaurants simply ignore that bad behavior like Snooks did. The Calamari was chewy and undercooked but the rest of the meal was great. The salad bar which comes with most meals was cute, typical salad bar fare but homemade bread you can self slice and an old fashioned pickle barrel with tasty pickles they make themselves. I had the blackened grouper sandwich that was really good, fries typical fries, nothing special. Hubs had Crab Cake sliders which he said were a little "mushy" for his taste but that could just be a preference thing. Frozen drinks were great! Feel like to even think of giving Snooks a bad review would get us forever banned from Marco Island it's such an institution. Go without kids (I beg of you) and wait to sit outside and I bet it would be a great time!!!

I've visited The Snook Inn countless times over the past 30 years. And, while I've enjoyed many fine meals here during that time, most Snook memories hinge on the wait time spent at the chickie bar sipping the requisite three drinks while listening to some Buffet cover guy strumming his six string before being seated for dinner. On a recent out-of-season visit, I was able to dine in relatively short order (without the aid of several preliminary cocktails) and the overall experience was somewhere between disappointing and shocking. The seafood wasn't quite as fresh as I'd expected and the once-renowned self-serve salad bar was, well... "grim". Additionally, the decor needed more than just a few touch-ups and the washrooms (yes -- I am going there in a Yelp restaurant review -- sorry!) were in dire need of maintenance. Perhaps these are things you don't notice or see in December though March when it gets dark at 5:30 and you've been boozing for an hour before heading to your table. This visit I returned -- and I left before even hitting the bar. Enough said. From now on, I'll treasure my memories of great times at The Snook Inn, while seeking out my seafood fix somewhere else.

The night that we visited, we were in the mood to chill. So we very much enjoyed sitting out under the Tiki Bar (lots of fans!) and the music was the perfect sound level that you could enjoy it, but not have to shout over it. On the night we visited, two tables got up and left due to no waitress taking over their tables. We were forewarned with this by a waiter apologizing that they were short-staffed. The food was very, very good. The lobster tails that we added to our orders was phenomenal and very reasonably priced. The salad bar was decent, but it would be challenging to make a meal out of just that. Loved the "fishing" for a pickle. Conch fritters were greasy (not surprising and isn't that part of what we love?). The fish was very good and overall it was a very satisfying meal as well as experience!

Great spot on the water. The staff was very friendly, especially Mike. The clam strips and shrimp were fresh and delicious. We went in the afternoon for a late lunch and their was live music. We docked the boat and walked right on to the deck, very convenient. Great place to just grab a drink or bring the kids.

The atmosphere (as everyone has mentioned) is fantastic! It's on the water, the people are laughing and having fun, our waiter was nice, etc. The food is okay though, nothing special but definitely worth going. (Especially with kids or a fun group of people).

Who cares about the food when there are dolphins!? I'm not a seafood lover (gasp!) so I'm not even going to bother reviewing the food - although I will say my fellow diners gave it a "just okay". However, the ambience is awesome. Live music (and good music), lots of fun people, and did I mention DOLPHINS. We visited three times in our week on Marco and saw dolphins twice and a manatee once! WooHoo! For a girl from the Midwest, this was a good trip. I also learned what a Snook was... so it was quite educational as well. Every staff member we met was super nice. Plenty of parking. Cheap. If you're in the area, this is what Marco is all about. Go, go, go!

Went for an early dinner and got really good food and very accommodating due to gluten-free diet. The salad was really fresh! We had oysters, escargot, grouper sandwich, scallop/shrimp scampi and lobster/shrimp Mac and cheese. The service was excellent, probably because we went early. The day we went it was raining so we did not see much, but the food was good.

I've been going to the Snook Inn for over 10 years & recently, I found it's still a pleasant little Marco gem. The place is on the water & has a tiki bar feel. The menu offers standard island fare and there is a salad bar included with all entrees. I don't really think it's anything out of this world, but it's a nice touch & it was pretty fresh. I don't like seafood (haha I'm at Snook Inn) so I had the Caribbean Ribs & they were OK. Our calamari appetizer was great, & everyone else at our table had a nice meal so I'm sure we'll be back when we're in Marco Island.

  • Ben V.

The food at Snook is pretty good. You can get better seafood other places for the same price or even less but you can't beat the atmosphere here. Even for lunch on a Tuesday they had live music outside. The service was great. Food came very fast, even before we finished our salads. The Snook Inn is always a must for us when we're visiting Marco. Our rehearsal dinner was here so we have very fond memories. Be prepared to drop some coin, though. For lunch (3 adults and 2 kids) we had 3 grouper sandwiches, 3 frozen cocktails and two children's meals with Shirley Temples we spent $91 plus tip. This is pretty expensive for lunch but we'll probably always be back.

Nice atmosphere, Beck playing the guitar, food pretty good, frozen drinks light on alcohol, wait service very slow even for island time.

    (3)
  • Jim G.

The atmosphere is a 4.5 star, but the food is going down to a 3 star. We have eaten here for 6 years in a row during our annual trip here. The buns for the sandwiches are store-bought and doughy. The fish is good but the presentation is cheap and the salad bar is looking a bit 1970's. We did eat twice here this trip and the entrees with fish are far better than the sandwiches. I almost gave it 3 stars, but the atmosphere and our great memories here pushed it to 4. Still love ya Snook, but rethink a few things.I will go back again next year, but the Island Gypsy Cafe on the nearby Isles of Capri has surpassed the Snook as our new "go to" place when we visit Marco.

  • Jason F.

Drinks bar side and a salad bar will make this fun and affordable. Lively musicians, 'tequilaville' atmosphere and a remote location add to the anonymity factor. If our table was any closer to the water we'd be on a boat yo! Killer water views and a glorious scene of sea faring life. Florida favs, fish, fried(s), soups, salads, a burger and other simple plates. Although there are a great many places in FLA similar to Snook inn, this far from civilization, Marco Island IS the last stop in the south west parts of the mainland and this is a good way to snook away.

Ate here twice last week while on vacation with my family. Had the fried grouper and the broiled grouper sandwiches; I preferred the broiled over the fried personally. Nice vacation feel being waterside. Worth the wait to sit by the water. Observation deck above to kill time before your table is ready (good for kids). Salad bar is really tasty; coleslaw is great (and I don't normally do coleslaw); lots of fresh bread at salad bar too.

loved Snook Inn!! starting with complementary rides there n back to hotel, we pulled up n from a 20-30 min wait, to being seated right away!! Sat outside, great staff, salad bar was fresh n delicious as was homemade bread n pickle bucket! baby back ribs... meat fell off bones, shrimp was delicious, lobster Mac n cheese, chicken breasts, everyone at our table was very happy! baked sweet potato came with its own little packet of brown sugar... live music set the mood... the tee shirt shack was closed, much to our disappointment n the manager opened it for us!! we will definitely recommend to our friends n hope to go back before our vacation ends!!

We always visit when in Marco but this last trip was disappointing. Not the food or salad bar, but the service. Since we were with our two small children we went early, but the waitress seemed annoyed our whole time. The kids were fairly well behaved for a 3 and 1 year old and we cleaned up much of the inevitable mess ourselves (even picking up food that feel on the floor), we will be back just hopeful for a better experience!

Where do you go after spending the day at the beach? Snook's Inn of course! Their food hit the spot, and was quite delicious! The salad bar was phenomenal--a variety of fresh veggies and came complete with whole pickles (yum!). For my entree, I ordered a grouper sandwich, which was not the cheapest sandwich ever, but well worth it. We went on a Saturday afternoon, so there was a live cover band playing. The music was exceptionally good and I loved the southwest Floridian atmosphere!

We were here in early April, mid-afternoon, and the place was pretty packed. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. We just came for appetizers and drinks, but I thought the peel 'n eat shrimp and other food was tasty. The place is very laid back - the atmosphere reminded me of some of the more casual spots in Key West.

I hope they finally found a cook. Went there with a group , we walked out. I agree the hostess and staff are not friendly. This place is a tourist trap. A great place twenty years ago. I think yelp has one of the most honest of restaurant reviews...

  • Jennifer W.

Apparently no one can rave about this place, it garners 3-4 stars from everyone. I'd really like to give it just 2 but maybe it's the peer pressure, so I'm going with 3 stars. The food was BLAH! crab cakes were so mild and flavorless and nothing for dipping, where's the tasty aioli that most restaurants serve alongside? Instead corn & black beans with onion and cilantro....huh?! The calamari was tough and super hard to chew. The oysters were, "ok", nothing special. As for the view, we got a crappy seat overlooking rocks where water once lived---exciting! Our waitress was ok at the start of the evening, once she set our food down we never saw her again. We finally asked the busser for our bill---when the waitress brought it back she said "can I get you anything else" we left her a pretty dismal tip (by the way, the place was almost empty at this point, so it's not like she was super slammed). There was a guy strummin' on a guitar and singing and he was really pretty good-- not amazing but it definitely was the highlight of the evening. Ya know, after reading my own review, sorry Snook Inn, you're getting knocked down to 2 stars!

I have been going to the Snook essentially all of my life. Besides the novelty of that and the pleasant atmosphere we wouldn't have kept coming here so long without good food. Stocked salad bar and fresh fish. Not inexpensive but comparable to Island prices. Cusabi salad is a must try with Blackend Tuna. They usually have someone strumming and playing classics outside next to the bar and I don't know that I've ever been to the Snook without seeing dolphins. For Vacationers this is a good spot but during really busy vacation weeks you will wait for a bit.

    (4)
  • Carrie P.

Love going here, the view is great and the food is consistently good. They offer a salad bar, with a barrel of delicious pickles! Grouper here is good, especially the grouper fingers. Only negative is that they serve beverages in a cheap plastic cup. Otherwise no complaints, service here is usually pretty good.

  • Guernica G.

Ok, I have been coming here for over 30 years. I moved down to Marco about 11 years ago and we still bring all guests to Snooks. The food is Ok. It's more of a tourist spot, but it's one you cannot miss. The experience is truly a Marco tradition. I used to love vacationing on Marco as a kid and anticipating going to Snooks to have the salad bar, ribs and see dolphins :) Speaking of the salad bar....it's the highlight of the place. You don't see them often and when you do you don't see french dressing, homemade croutons and fresh bread along with a pickle barrel. It's fun for adults and kids alike. I would not miss going to Snooks. In the summers they have daily "all you can eat" specials. I wouldn't recommend them as they are mass produced and usually dry, but they are there for you. Best dishes are the burgers, ribs, foo foo drinks (pricey), and the pork loin sandwich. I'm not a fish eater, so I can't comment. All meals, even sandwiches, come with the salad bar, so prices are pretty decent. The wait staff is always nice, but there were a few that I heard actually tell a customer that they are not leaving a good enough tip. Really??? Not cool. Cathy is the same bartender outside that I remember as a little girl 35 years ago! It sure brings back a home feeling whenever I go there. The views are breathtaking and the outside chicki bar and "entertainment" is great (cheesy one man bands, but great for a vacation feel). If you're visiting Marco don't miss Snook Inn on Bald Eagle.

  • Pete F.

I'd give Snooks 4 stars for atmosphere and 2.5 stars for food. On a Monday evening, we were told the wait was over 1 hour though we waited only 20 minutes. It's clearly one of the most popular places on Marco, given the crowd. I'd say it's probably a must visit for anyone visiting Marco. The restaurant has ample outdoor and indoor seating. There is a bar where you can enjoy appetizers while you wait for your table. Dinner comes with a trip to the salad bar. Dinner choices comprised of the assortment of fried seafoods (grilled option available). I had the seafood sampler, which came w/ mahi mahi, grouper, scallop, and scampi. It appeared the whole plate was assembled, doused with butter, and put into the oven. The result, not so good. The whole thing was over cooked and lacked any flavor. Friend had the grouper - blackened. Let's just say it probably came with a week's worth of sodium. Food aside, it was an enjoyable experience. The service was great. Great place for people watching and a great view to boot.

OK outdoor bar with usual overpriced tourist drinks. Did the seafood buffet - would not do it, again. While OK, definitely not a $30 buffet. Small fried shrimp (didn't seem to have a Gulf favor). Boiled shrimp OK, but again, didn't taste Gulf. Small salad bar about 1/4 size of Applebee's, etc. Several broiled fish, but way blah. Very weird requirement to wear bracelet for buffet ... Not sure why would they old need to protect it so :-) Great musician! Would return, but only order off menu.

Beautiful view food was ok a little overpriced but the view was worth it, the drive there was worth it

Don't go for the food (way disappointing and a cranky waitress to boot)! Go because of the location! Lots of outdoor seating (and docks) right on the water to watch people, birds, dolphins, manatees & boats. The beer is cold, the music is live, and the view is gorgeous!

  • Jen C.

Snook Inn has excellent food and service. The raw oysters were great. All the seafood were so fresh. We would recommend to anyone who loves seafood!!!!! It is right along the waters and you can just drive right up on the docks and eat at the restaurant. There is a balcony and you can see dolphins and manatees!!!

We were seated promptly, but took too long for our server to arrive. At least 6 different servers walked by and ignored us and the place was 1/2 empty unacceptable. Greet us you even if you can't get right to us you idiots! We ordered our food & drinks together worried we might not see Chellsey again. Both meals came with a trip to the salad bar which was pretty good. She got fish tacos and loved them, they came with black beans & rice which she didn't touch. I lived dangerously and ordered the crab cake sliders and they were great! 2 sliders served on a bed of fresh slaw and a remoulde sauce that was spicy and a side of Fry's that were also great. Food was outstanding, but never make customers sit with nothing in front of them for more than a minute. It looks like it's such a busy place that the waitrons make money no matter how slow they are. They make it up in volume. The view was great and we even saw a giant Snook jump fully out of the water out in the channel.

Not up to par today . Drinks were horrible, food so so and the entertainer should stick to singing lessons and less slapstick comedy !

  • Barbara A.

Service excellent ~ food mediocre, salad bar was boring, a lot of "open the can" items and dressings. Had ribs, they were good, hard to mess up, my dining companion had a fish dish.........boring, plain.........view is nice, paying for the location. I'll be back for a cocktail and sit at the bar for the view ~~

Nice outdoor bar, but we weren't able to get a seat. Ate inside, food was OK. I had the oyster po boy and was pretty disappointed with the lack of flavor. It was pretty bland. One of the people I was with had the seafood mac & cheese, which was very tasty. Salad bar was fine. Definitely worth visiting for the location.

Went to Naples for getaway with husband. We arrived at noon and drove straight to the Snook! This place puts you in the beachy mood. Ordered cold beer and cold shrimp with grouper sandwich.... Perfect! If your impatient and don't like to wait, then you might want to skip it... But the pickles alone are enough to keep me coming back.

If u r just visiting marco, it's worth going. But just once for the view. Used to be a good spot but food has gone down hill and treat everyone like tourists now. Happy hour is still good.

  • Janne G.

Our experience was a big disappointment. If you like iceberg lettuce and little variety you will like the salad bar. The broiled seafood was very bland with no apparent seasoning or sauces or butter. I prices were much, much higher than the quality, sitting on picnic table benches and no place mats. The bargain basement experience did not match what we paid.

We come here every time we visit Marco yearly. Great location, very good service, live music, awesome salad bar. We usually get chicken wing apps and a sandwich or burger, with the one trip salad bar, you can't go wrong, and you won't go away hungry! Good selection of drinks at the open air bar, and we always eat outside. See ya next year!

  • P. M.

We did lunch with 4 of us. When we arrived and found a small parking lot jammed, and in this town it resembled bumper cars...lol. Anyway we found a 20 minute wait and sat at the bar for drinks and apps. We had Calamari and it fresh and cooked right, along with chicken wings that were good. Once seated at our picnic table we all ordered a fish sandwich of some kind. They arrived and look like a cheap diners food. The fish was fresh and that is where good left the meal. The bun was disgusting, the fries cold and cooked in old grease. This was just bad, I give the review an OK because of the view and the bar. Skip over paying for a meal and eat at the bar.

This is a 4-star setting with 3-star food. The food is pretty good with the standards you'd expect in a waterside restaurant in FL. Fish fried, grilled, blackened, broiled, etc. Steaks. Burgers. The salad bar is pretty bad, but that's ok because odds are, you're not there because of a salad. The drinks flow freely, the setting is fantastic and you get to watch boats go by the entire time. There's live music, families, fishermen, rich folks and normal folks. Overall, lots of fun.

  • Elizabeth Z.

Personally, I think the Snook is a great place to grab some lunch and/or a drink. Although I am sure it might seem like a bit of a hole in the wall, it is right on the water (you can even come by boat), there is always live music and plenty of seating by the water. When you go (this shouldn't be an if) I suggest the Mahi-Mahi sandwich- blackened. Their signature sandwich- the Grouper is also a good option. All entrees come with a trip to the salad bar, which is a great treat-- I agree with Jessica S.- who doesn't love a barrel full of pickles?!

  • Sue C.

Okay, we really liked this place! Tried it for lunch after a positive recommendation from our daughter and her husband. Overall we enjoyed the food, ambience and the friendly helpful service (a bit slow but it was pretty packed). Most if not all meals come with a trip to their salad bar - and that's a good thing! Run of the mill greens (iceberg), but then it gets good. Includes marinated mushrooms, other regular veggies, cole slaw, potato salad, barrel of pickles, pickled beets and three bean salad and some bread my husband said was good. I am sure there were a few more items i have failed to list. Many dressing choices of which we had ranch and bleu cheese and they were both good. I had fried oysters (okay, but not a patch on the ones we had earlier at M8) and Paul had baked, stuffed shrimp which he liked better than the ones he gets back in Maine. We both had the black bean & rice side option and loved it. I took my small leftover side home to enjoy later. We will be going back for sure. And, yes we did see a dolphin going by doing its dolphin thing!

  • Shain C.

The Snook Inn came highly recommended but just didn't quite deliver. The food was good, the service was adequate, but it didn't live up to the hype. The place itself is very clean, I was quite impressed with the bathroom in particular... and the location on the water is very pleasant. I wonder if it would have been different for dinner than for lunch cause we didn't understand why so many people raved about it and what we were missing. Maybe if we'd come by boat? I dunno.

  • David D.

I give the Snook four stars for the scene and the view of the Marco River. They also have a very good grouper sandwich, I have been hard pressed to find one better. The salad bar included with the sandwiches is pretty good, nice variety of toppings for the iceberg lettuce.

    (4)
  • Jessica S.

I really like the Snook! The atmosphere alone is worth 5 stars! It's just one of those places in Marco that everyone knows about. We often go at night when the sun is setting and the boats are coming back in and it's beautiful! A little spendy but they can demand that with how popular they are. I love the salad bar because who doesn't like a giant barrel full of dill pickles? We've always had a great time when we are there and on several occasions the music and entertainment has been a blast! I'm sure I'll be back the next time I'm down!

  • Todd B.

Great open air atmosphere and live music - right on the waterfront, with reasonable menu prices. As other raters had already shared, the salad bar and food was average - although the key lime and peanut butter pie was excellent for dessert.

One of the those places that you must visit if you go to SW Fla. We all know how awesome the views are, fun vibe, dolphins jumping, eclectic crowd, etc. My one piece of advice though is this: Go for drinks and apps only then go find a seafood 'dive' restaurant off island to really get your fill of good reasonably priced seafood. Learn from our experience. We went for a late lunch the other day, each had one drink, small order of stone crabs, 1/2 dozen oysters, full seafood plate, dropped $70 and walked out hungry. Had to order a pizza when we got back to the condo b/c of the small portions. (We literally got ONE piece of shrimp w/ the Seafood platter). I guess the music, dolphins, and view are all factored into the price huh? Would I go back? Sure, but for drinks and maybe an app only.

Took the family here for dinner. Nice and casual. The only disappointment was they were out of gator bites. Salad bar was good... Liked the homemade pickles. Scallops were terrific. Fish and chips was loved by my daughter. My son's hot dog was big and meaty. He also made quick work of the calamari too. My wife loved the jumbo shrimp and our peel n' eat shrimp appetizer were much bigger and tastier than what I am used to in New England. We'll be back next time we're on Marco.

  • Sean M.

When we rolled up to Snook Inn the parking lot was packed so we thought there would be a wait. The wait was for outdoor seating. We were able to get a seat right on the window with a view immediately. This place is not the highest end dining experience, however the view of the water and docked boats is really nice. Service was super friendly. We would probably come back here to try the seafood buffet they do on Thurs and Friday nights.

  • Lauren L.

I've been coming here since I was about 5. It is a nice open place when the weather is nice. The salad bar is fresh, they have live music and the seafood is uber fresh, I would stay away from the grilled cheese with ham and just enjoy all the fresh fishies! The view is gorgeous of the isle of capri and you are more than likely to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife I have seen dolphins, pelicans and flamingos.

  • JW U.

One of the few places left to still serve grouper - the blackened grouper sandwhich is outstanding and comes with the salad bar, which still pretty good, including the alomst famous pickle bar. Yes it a bit a tourist spot but locals visit and enjoy - think off season.

I love snook inn. Come here whenever im in the naplws/marco area. I give it 4 stars because the food isnt the star attraction here. But theres usually good live music and a great view and ambience on the outdoor patio. As one reviewer said the dining room is old and worn out, but its such a great seaside dining experience just dont sit inside. Food is typical fried in a basket type fare. They do have a good broiled platter for the more health concious. itsa fun outing if youre in the area

Conch chowder and fried oysters. Delish. I come out to FL every winter to get my seafood fix on and Snook Inn delivered. This is my 2nd time here and still no complaints. The chowder was tangy but the conch was scarce. The fried oysters melted in my mouth. Damn good! I've had the grouper here too, no complaints.

Great place for dinner my first night in town. Conch Fritters were better than ones we had in key west. Grouper Fingers were super fresh.Nice salad bar and some great cold draft beers. Will be back for happy hour..

Service was very good & the broiled Snapper was excellent. The salad bar is something out of the Big Boy restaurant style but okay. Overall very good with a scenic, touristy atmosphere.

    (4)
  • Jeanine S.

The location makes up for the average food and drinks here. My dinner companions all felt that this place was overpriced for a so-so salad bar and our ho-hum dinner. Grouper was overcooked and drinks were all mixer and little booze. Live music is another plus here.

    (3)
  • Sam S.

I'm partial to a good fish sandwich at a waterside establishment so it wasn't hard for me to really like the Snook Inn. The Snook Inn has an old school feel to it. We sat outside next to the water. Wait staff was friendly and generally pretty good. I ordered the world famous Snook Inn grouper sandwich which was quite good, prepared with a bit of a jerk type seasoning. All sandwiches come with a trip to the Snook Inn salad bar which was a nice option. The outside area also had live music which again was a nice treat.

    (4)
  • Jen P.

Have been here several times on our Marco Island family vacations. The lunch is good-great salad bar, grouper sandwich is excellent. Have been there for their seafood buffet and wasn't the greatest. Service is good, atmosphere is nice, relaxing to look out onto the bay.

    (4)
  • Devan H.

If you are looking for a seafood shack on the river with high energy, a fun seeking crowd, great outdoor seating, a beautiful view, and live music then you have found your place. But. If, after waiting about an hour for a table you think you are going to get a great meal then forget about it. The food really is awful. It makes a MacDonald's hamburger and fries look gourmet. Stick with the salad bar and some peel and eat shrimp and a drink and just go for the atmosphere.

  • Paul W.

Have been coming to the Snook since the 1970's - can't beat the grouper sandwich, salad bar, and a cold beer by the Marco River. Only drawback at night was mosquitos - not a problem during lunch, but the critters were pretty aggressive come dusk!

    (4)
  • Steve T.

Just had dinner there last night! The atmosphere is the biggest selling point. The menu was a little bit limited, but the food was really good. The service was OK -- nothing spectacular -- but nothing wrong. Watched the dolphins frolic while we ate. Nice place. Good food.

Went here on a whim. We have been to snook inn before (about three years ago) in the rain. Atmosphere is ok at best. We were sat at a table three feet in front of the live music (not by request). I know this is a popular place because of the wait time but by the end of the meal I was left wondering why. It was the same outcome as three years ago, which I still blame my wife for dragging me there the last time. Service was slow, asked for a side of mayo, got a side of tarter sauce. Asked again for a side of mayo (extremely politely) and server dropped a single packet of heinz mayo on table and kept walking. Three of us at the table ordered the beer battered grouper sandwich. Both of our friends swear the grouper was substituted by another cheaper white fish. Didn't really matter as the sandwich bread was soaked and falling apart, and had zero flavor. Fries served as a side were good. Salad bar came with the meal, but was a little scary, and sparse in choice. I always before writing a review give a place a second chance a few months to years later before writing them off, and this is one of them. On Marco island there are many restaurants serving seafood and I really can't wrap my mind around how this one stays in business.

Snook Inn is interesting. The outdoor seating is good. It surrounds a bar and is on the waterfront. However, the inside is really dark and not much to look at. Crowd is mixed with people in their 20s as well as older people in 50s and 60s. Everyone did seem to be having a great time! Food is typical bar food with lots of drink selections. Prices seemed really good, especially for a vacation destination. Don't forget to stop by their merchandise shop on your way out.

Drinks were 1/2 priced and still was over priced. Cash bar what's with that. Food same as anywhere in this area. Dolphins can actually be sean my the marina next door for free. NOT kids friendly, Food go to the Sand bar. $1 beer 12oz

  • Dozer T.

Not bad food... Setting is really what sold this place for me. Sitting on the water is awesome. Conch fritters were great if just a little less firm than I expected. Tasty none the less. Strip and filet were both good although my strip could have used a little seasoning. It was a little more done than I had requested. All in all though an enjoyable time. The live music was a little men; 1 guy playing guitar to wheat track and occasionally singing. And not always songs suited to his vocal range...

Have eaten here a few times. Very busy place, nice for outdoor dining. Service can be a bit slow. Food is always good.

  • Jeff G.

I'm not going to call Snook a tourist trap - it is a vacation spot. Great water front location with plenty of outdoor seating, cool name and logo, with souvenir shop so you can take your Snook memories home with you and show all your neighbors you were there. I do like the grouper sandwich, and most of the seafood entries are good (if a little pricey - but what the hey you're on vacation). One complaint - salad bar - weren't these banned in 1988? I just don't like the general wheezing public touching, and hacking on my first course. So if you're on vacation go to Snook and enjoy.

    (3)
  • Vic A.

Drove out from Miami to Marco Island for a change of pace. We decided to look for a place on the water and the Snook Inn fit the bill. The food we ordered was what you expect from a waterside drinking hole, not bad though. The menu offered plenty of variety which was nice, and the selection was decent as well. They had a live band and the crowd was a little older than I was used too. On a side note my battery in my car failed and a member of the staff was kind enough to take the time to get us going. With that said I'll definitely be back for drinks and fish sandwiches.

    (3)
  • Bruce H.

Not sure why people like this place. Bad food. Bad service. Eaten alive by mosquitos. Poor entertainment. There are a zillion other places you can go to on Marco Island. And I recommend that you do!

  • Fred M.

Every time we visit Marco Island we eat here at least once. The salad bar is very good, the food is above average, and the drinks are great. The service is super and the staff is friendly. Plus the view is wonderful. You cannot go wrong visiting the Snook Inn.

    (4)
  • Kelly B.

I'm just not a Florida vacation girl, the appeal is completely lost on me, but the Snook was the one hub of sanity I found on the whole island. I wouldn't dare touch the food... but yes I am done with this beer and yes I would like another (actually bring me two, thanks). The cutest creepiest man plays keys and sings pop songs while people who didn't give a damn 'bout nothing danced their little hearts out. The fish swarm around the docks nipping at invisible bread while boats pull up to pick up tall boys, and I can gaze into the gulf drinking my beer while waiting to get back to NYC.

    (4)
  • Jesse M.

The Snook was the second stop on a Sunday afternoon bar crawl across Marco Island. We sat at the bar and quickly had beers in hand. The tap selection wasn't great, but sufficed. We both had grouper sandwiches and they were delicious. The eclectic collection of locals at the bar were quick to strike up a conversation, but my favorite part was the barrel of pickles at the salad bar. I kept going back for more and they kept getting better. Another great spot for drinks and a bite to eat in Naples.

    (3)
  • Patrick G.

The food was okay. What is it with everything being served with french fries? I had blackened grouper fish, some oysters, and yeah, french fries. But I like how the guitarist who wanders between the tables, strumming and humming, actually seems to enjoy his job. Some of the older women went nuts singing along, too. What rambunctious elderly folk they have in this part of the country....

  • Sydney P.

This place is what it is. Totally laid back and unpretentious. We had a late lunch here last weekend & it was sort of magical. It is a real shanty. We all had Island drinks or cold beer, ate on the deck looking over the water, watched as a small school of dolphins frolicked not 25 feet way from us ( the entire time), I had the best steamed clams I have had in forever, yummy conch fritters, shrimp- a solid place. It's not 5 star food here, but the menu has some winners, and the service rivaled many of the $35-45 plate restaurants in Naples. If you're cruising through Marco definitely check it out. Just relax , eat yummy food and enjoy the water. I am craving the steamers and the dolphin show already.

  • Ken A.

If you want fried food and a salad bar go here! I wouldn't recomend this place if you are looking for a decent meal. Doesn't live up to the hype. Food was so overly fried I couldn't even tell what I was eating. Better places to go for sure.

  • Rick E.

While vacationing in Southwest Florida our foursome visited the Snook Inn specifically for their famous grouper sandwich. It was very good-some ordered it grilled and were very pleased. I ordered fried and it was done to perfection-not greasy, great taste, fresh sandwich ingredients. The included salad bar was a little disappointing-run-of-the-mill ingredients displayed in a not very appetizing way. We came at the end of the dinner hour and the salad bar looked beat. Other notes: French fries were great. service good and a nice view in a casual setting with live entertainment. Great come-as-you-are place.

after spending the morning touring the everglades on an air boat, we stopped here in the late afternoon for drinks and a little bite. i was immediately struck by the view from the deck - a row of beautiful houses at the end of the canal and different varieties of seabirds diving for fish in the ocean. we started with a delicious shrimp cocktail to whet our appetites and i had an excellent mojito. after the appetizer we went inside for dinner - my parents both had ribs and i had all you can eat queen crab legs. i was saddened to find out the crab was from alaska BUT god was it tasty. this was definitely my favorite meal/restaurant experience while visiting FL. great service from friendly locals, a relaxing view and great food.

Water-front dining in the Florida Everglades! The Snook Inn is a little hard to find, but it's well worth the trip. The serve fabulous seafood in a casual dining environment. You can get fish and chips or fried shrimp and fries in a basket. You're bound to see some dolphins swimming by. And the marina is full of boat activity. They even have an outside bar for those hot Florida nights!

    (5)
  • Robert M.

I'm a fan if you are going here for the atmosphere, salad bar and live music. The view from here is the best on the island. Food is just okay.(too bad they didn't try harder, it could have been more of a goldmine!) Love the salad bar. Off season the seafood buffet is good too if you are good at picking large pieces of king crab out of the claw! They know what they have here so the food doesn't have to be great and it's not. Hang out, go for lunch!

    (4)
  • C. M.

Drinks only: The views on the outdoor dock and observation area are breathtaking; the service is extraordinarily friendly; the live music is fun; and the drinks are cheap. All around, it's a winner to enjoy a cocktail with some marvelous views.

  • Mike D.

Go to Snook to eat outside on the water. The seating inside is not the best and its dark and musty. The outside bar and tables is the place to be. They even have roof deck seating. The food is good to above average and the drinks are strong. Staff has always been great and prices are reasonable.

    (3)
  • Bill U.

On a slow-paced island, deep in retirement country the Snook may be one of the liveliest places for dinner. Sit back and have a conch fritter, drink a beer by the dock, and finish it all off with Florida's best key lime pie. If you get sent to Marco Island for a business trip, or if you are actually retired be sure to head out Bald Eagle Drive to the Snook.

    (4)
  • John J.

This seafood place is right on the water so you get to watch boats or even dolphins going by while you eat. The food is not the best but is good enough. I gave it 4 stars since it is on the water. Just to let you know this is a very casual seafood restaurant.

    (4)
  • Sarah S.

The Snook Inn is simply a good place for food and drinks. Based on the outdoor patio, I would give it 4 stars, but the food is a solid 3 star rating. It's best to stick with the basics...a great grouper sandwich, fresh shrimp and oysters at lunch. The 3 fish broiler combination at dinner is average, the fish comes out a little overcooked but the shrimp, scallops and crab cake are good. The shrimp dejonge was a a good recommendation. The salad bar and giant vat of dill pickles add a lot to the meal and experience. Service isn't the quickest, but if you're at the Snook, you're probably not in a hurry. The setting is fantastic and each time we've been there we've had a lot of dolphin sightings. The kids found some small squid and fish around the docks at night. The crowd is a nice mix of all ages. Overall, it's a great place to have a beer and good conversation.

    (3)
  • Lara J.

This place is awesome! They have great grouper sandwiches! It's also right on the water so on more than one occassion we were able to watch the dolphins while we had lunch.

We are back in town for our annual visit and headed straight to Snook Inn for dinner. Got there around 7:30 -Saturday night-the parking lot was packed! We found a spot and checked in with the Host stand. They gave us a pager of sorts and sent us to the bar. Bartenders couldn't have been more friendly. We had a seat in the holding area and enjoyed our cocktail....about 10 minutes later our pager went off and the seated us right in front of the guy playing the guitar - Big win for me! What a talented fun entertainer. We had our usual fish spread - which was amazing - and split the fresh snapper dinner. So good. Just love this place. We will be back before our vacation ends!

If you come to Marco Island, you have to come here at least once. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced seafood with great outdoor seating, band and water view! Come early to enjoy half off happy hour drinks while you wait for outdoor seating since they don't take reservations. Great Mojito's with real sugar cane!! There is free shuttle service:). We come here every time we're in Marco Island.

Pretty good, not great but a good local place with outdoor and indoor seating. I like to visit the local owned places and with the live music it is a good value place for seafood.

The freshest seafood and I loved it. The view at sunset was worth everything. Watch the fish jump, boats pass by waving, the food and the drinks and the service was all excellent.

Loved this place, nothing fancy, waterfront (inlet) dining. Great service. Wished we would have sat outside under Tiki Hut roof instead of inside.

While arriving late, we had a limited bar menu, half -price drinks, and a water-side table. Perfect place for a late cocktail/snack!

The Snook Inn's menu is mainly dominated with fish, and if you are OK you should check this place out. If you weren't paying attention you would probably pass by this place since it's a little off the road along the water. The view from the actual restaurant is great. The food is OK. Nothing too amazing. The extra star is for the fact that they have fried alligator which was better than the fish sandwich I had for lunch.

Great atmosphere. Loved the chill live music. Pretty kid friendly outside. Local server was great. Got the garlic shrimp 5star, prime rib 4star, and stuffed grouper 4.5 stars. Really loved being on the water and a plus that I could walk there from The Boat House where we are staying. Relatively decently priced. Our family of 4 shared 3 meals with 1 alcohol for under 100 including tip.

This place was highly recommended so we decided to do lunch. The atmosphere is what makes it what it is. On the water boats going by, if the weather is nice it is a great place to be. The food is fair, the salad bar is mediocre. Not a bad experience I was just hoping it would be more than it was.

What a great place to eat, drink and stand on the pier watching the fish in the water below. We have been going to Snook Inn for over twenty years. In fact, we do not leave the Naples, Marco area without a visit. It is always the highlight. We took our two youngest grandsons there last week. They loved it; and are still talking about being able to see the fish swimming in the bay. The view is beautiful, especially at or after sundown. The drinks are delicious and plentiful. The food selection is large. You will definitely find something to suit your taste. It is prepared to your liking. The salad bar is not the largest; but there is plenty to choose from, including pickles. The problem I have is that it is so good I usually tend to overeat. Can't help it.

I was on Marco Island for a two-week business trip and our team of 5 went to the Snook Inn everyday for lunch while we were there. We got the fresh catch on any salad we chose and I even took home a bottle of their hot sauce (kapow it's hot!). We couldn't get enough! I can only recommend the salads though but they are totally worth it.

We always visit the Snook Inn while visiting during Spring Break in Naples. After waiting 1,5 hours on a Tuesday night and several tables were available outside, my family of 5 were seated in the hot over crowded dining room. I think the food was overpriced. Also $6 for a Corona??? On the upside, the service was good and I really enjoyed the mahi mahi sandwich.

All I can say is UNLIMITED SALAD BAR - bomb dot com! If you want amazing water views, option to pull your boat up to dock, and listen to local music - this is the place to relax! You will wait awhile even if you make reservations, but it is worth it! I get the grouper sandwich (better deal than platter). It is a local institution! Must go!

Good food. Good environment. Good price. Every time I have been there, they even have live music. I love it. I come here every time I visit the island and buy gift cards for people about to visit.

Go there for the atmosphere.... Sit by the water and watch birds and sailers enjoying their freedom, and listen to Buffett-esque live music. Food is fine, a bit pricey for what you get. But obviously worth it, an annual event during March Madness get-away.

Such a local treasure! With a delicious salad bar, great drinks and even better service, you will be coming back to Snook Inn for years to come. The food is incredible with tons of options for fresh fish and veggies. The ambiance of the view makes for a great dining experience.

Wow. Terrible service. First off, we heard such great things, we were really looking forward to it. It is true the location was fantastic. Outdoor/indoor bar was amazing. However, we ate inside on the water I would give the food B-. Although the grouper sandwich was great. The swordfish was so so, the jerk chicken sandwich was average and the coconut shrimp was oily. All this was bearable, but worst of all was the waitress. Once she realized that we were not going to order alcohol she acted completely put out. One of our party went to the restroom, and while they were gone she said "there's four of you?" And then proceeded to say "I can't believe they sat you, you might have to leave". It continues: then one of our party ask where the salad bar was, she patronizingly her hand on his shoulder and said "oh you'll find it". I would definitely never go back. So disappointing.

Love Snook Inn! This is our 15th year coming to Marco and we always come to Snook Inn. Great atmosphere, good food and a wonderful salad bar. They even have coupons for free kids meals etc. Happy hour is awesome too! Everything half off except bottles. They don't take reservations so get here early.

Beautiful view of the water! I usually love sitting outside especially when there is a view of the water. The group I was with however preferred inside seating because it was very hot outside. To my delight, even the inside seating had beautiful views of the water. It was perfect because we had comfortable air conditioning and we were able to enjoy the view. The service was great! And the food was on point! We started with the conch fritters, which both my husband and I enjoyed. I had the blackened grouper with a side of broccoli. The grouper was fresh and tasty, and the "blackened" seasoning was perfect. The broccoli was simple and good. Each entree comes with a salad buffet that includes freshly baked bread that you slice and serve for yourself. The salad buffet was decent and a nice addition to the meal. The bread was sooooo delicious. You can tell that it is baked fresh. It reminded me of my mom's home baked bread. The restaurant itself is casual and a little outdated with its decor, but it makes up for it with its food and service. It is a great family place. The tables are a little tight and close together, but who cares when the views are so beautiful and the food is so good. I definitely recommend this restaurant when visiting Marco Island.

This place is great! I love the atmosphere and went there twice on my recent five-day trip. The drinks are delicious, the staff is friendly, and the music is great. The food (except the salad bar) was also really good. Not the best meal on the island, but certainly a great night out. There is always a crowd and a bit of a wait for a table. However, the upper deck is a perfect place to wait with a mojito in your hand.

A must visit if you go to Marco! My opinion may be biased based on the fact that my family has connection to Snooks and the clam factory that was originally on the island ;). I have visited this place a few times and it has become one of my favorite seafood places! We have never had to wait and were immediately seated (we go between 12-3pm). The service is also good. The waitresses have been friendly and taken care of what was needed during the meal. My favorite dishes are the fried clams and the red snapper! So fresh!!! The snapper was caught the same day it was put on my plate. I ordered it fried and it was perfect. Not greasy or overly battered. The clams were huge and so sweet! The grouper is a great choice and the broiled seafood platter. I also love the salad bar that comes with all entrees. The pickle barrel is awesome and the potato salad is so yummy! For an appetizer, try the conch fritters! Yum! As for dessert, I was disappointed with the Key Lime pie. It is a sweeter version of the pie, and I like one that is a bit more tart. For dessert, I go to Capt. Brien's for Key Lime pie - after a fabulous dinner at Snook's, of course :). I could eat here multiple times a week and not get tired of it. Great family seafood restaurant and worth the visit!

We didn't love it. Arrived at 9:00pm and had no wait. Salad bar was ok. Shrimp dish was swimming in 1/4 inch of very greasy looking butter. Flavor was ok but looking at it was unappetizing. Ribs were ok but a little dry. Probably wouldn't recommend this place for dinner but maybe a beer and some cold shrimp.

    (2)
  • Lori R.

Not a bad place, though I thought it was pretty pricey. Maybe it was just what I ordered. My coconut shrimp was $20. It wasn't all that great. And a little much for ten little shrimp and fries. The hubby got the seafood buffet and he was pretty pleased. This was also $20. A big plus was the service. Don, our server, was fantastic. Another good thing about this place was the location. It's right on the water where you can see dolphins swimming by. Pretty neat!

We went to the Snook Inn on a Sunday afternoon in the off season. They have the crankiest hostess ever in the restaurant business. She is completely lacking in common manners and shows not even a hint of social grace. If their food reputation was not so stellar, we would have left immediately. Four of the six in our party ordered the famous grouper sandwich. It was not the best that I've ever had, but it was really good. We had the conch fritters and the smoked fish spread. The fish spread was really nice and smokey. Even the ones in our group who don't typically care for fish spread raved about it. The salad bar at Snook Inn is filled with delightful surprises... Chilled dill pickles in a barrel, various types of pasta salads, crispy fresh vegetables. It was a wonderful surprise. I must say that the food here is high quality. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked great! As a bonus, we sat and watched Dolphins playing in the canals while we enjoyed dinner. I'm glad that we decided to ignore the truly awful hostess so that we could enjoy the rest of our time at Snook Inn.

Snooks Inn is situated on the north end of the island in what locals old Marco...we went on a Friday night, it was quite busy and had live music...waiting for the inside seating was around 10 minutes and outside about 25 minutes. The view from outside was great with being right on the docks. We went to the bar for two cocktails with the alcohol controlled with the shot pour system...The two drinks were well poured and tasted great...just cost 18 dollars... After seating we had prompt service and ordered an app of the shrimp stuffed scallop warped in bacon and deep fried...great...The salad bar was small and poor...I got the prime rib...it was average but large...my wife had the stuffed grouper...lacked flavor...we ordered three pieces of pie to go....no drinks but water at dinner and it all cost around 100 dollars....snook's inn is a great place for drinks, music and atmosphere but that's about as far as you should go!

Go for the location not the food. You will need to wash your hands over and over again to try and get the smell off. You will smell like the food for at least a day. The location and music are great. Have some drinks and dont worry about eating here.

Terrible. Worst meal of the week. I am only giving it two stars because I did not leave hungry and the food was edible. There was really nothing remarkable about the entire ordeal.I ordered the broiled platter, consisting of mahi-mahi, broiled shrimp, a potato like thing called a crabcake, and a piece of grouper. All of the fish was flavorless and coated in some sort of red seasoning. I am from the Chesapeake Bay Area and I know a crabcake when I taste one. Lots of areas around the Chesapeake have different ways of preparing crabcakes but these contained almost no crab. They were cakes of what tasted like instant mashed potatoes with pieces of red and green peppers mixed in. I'm not a complainer but this was unacceptable to me. The outside deck bar has a nice view and the margarita that I ordered tasted very good, however, was overpriced at about $13.00. The salad bar consisted of a few premade cold salads, a lot of iceberg lettuce, and basic dressings. A few restaurants on the island featured a house dressing but this restaurant held nothing unique or original of its own. Another family member ordered a garlic shrimp dish that was mostly covered with breadcrumbs. Another family member ordered a hot wings appetizer and requested that they be hot however when the dish arrived the hot sauce was more like mild. The staff and service were pleasant enough. It's a shame the food is so terrible.

Very long line and parking is horrendous. Found a parking spot and waited another 45 for a table. Food was very good. 3 of us enjoyed the grouper sandwich and my wife had the seafood platter. The food was fantastic. Walked around after dinner on the docks.

Wife and I went for dinner Sunday night. We stopped at the Snook Inn simply because the parking lot was full and there was a line to get in. We had just drove past several places that were empty so we figure the Snook inn was a local favorite. I ordered the broiled grouper special with rice and beans, she got grilled Mahi Mahi with vegetable medley. The salad bar was under whelming but good with plenty to choose from to make a basic dinner salad. However, I can't help but think it is a salad bar, with a bread station simply to have you get it yourself which saves the restaurant from doing it for you. All of the dressings are homemade, she had a vinaigrette and I chose blue cheese. It was a little heavy on sour cream and under seasoned for me. Her Mahi Mahi was fantastic, meaty and flavorful with no fish taste. She is not a huge fish eater and loved it. My Grouper was flaky and good but just a tad fishy tasting when compared to the Mahi Mahi. No complaints, very good meal, very attentive service, and a beautiful setting. If you go, try the homemade pickles, they are the star of the salad bar crispy, briny, and garlicky. 3.5 on the Grouper 4.5 on the Mahi Mahi.

Our server we will give five out of five, and the view was amazing, and I'm surprised that the resturant even had its own gift shop. So service was 5, and food was fine, more average, but I'll give it a 3, and view and location gets 4, which equals 4.

    (4)
  • Jack M.

Rating just the food I would give it 3 Stars. Drinking at the outdoor bar 5 stars. So it ends up a 4. Have ate here a few times and it is hit or miss. Sometimes really good sometimes just OK. It is always busy so be prepared to wait. Sitting at the outdoor bar and having some drinks and an app or two is more pleasurable to me than sitting inside. The problem is I usually can`t leave after 1-2 drinks. 1-2 turns into 5-6 and we are getting a cab back to our hotel.

    (4)
  • Joe M.

I'm a fan. We ended up eating here twice. I had fish both times. The pickles were awesome. Yes they have a big barrel of them next to the salad bar. Our servers were very nice and the food was tasty. If you come during happy hour. i think it was 4-6 everyday. You get half off drinks at the bar, but you have to pay cash. BTW I don't get why the servers can't get you the drinks. that was the only neg i could find in the place. We had a seat right by the water. Live music and great food with 1/2 drinks. How could you beat that. So glad we came.

Went there for the first time with our son and his family. Gator bites were overlooked, our grouper sandwiches were over cooked and very dry. Our son had fish tacos and was sick for three days afterwards. Best part of the meal was the salad bar. Very disappointed overall.

We heard that this was a great place to eat and watch the sunset. Unfortunately, we were on the island during a rainy week. We did stop here for dinner on our last night. While we couldn't enjoy a sunset, we did get to watch dolphins having fun in the water. My husband and I ordered their all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. They had a decent selection. Their drinks were good. (I had an amazing frozen alcoholic cherry drink!) Service was a bit slow, but they were busy.

Giving no stars and this is why- We arrived at 650pm for a party of 15 knowing we would have a long wait. We were told an hour and we offered to even split up into two groups and said that would make it shorter. We watched as more groups arrived and were seated without a comment. After an hour and 45 minutes, we asked how much longer and were told they weren't sure and that they told us 2 hours. At this point, we started getting frustrated. We then said after this wait we better be seated together and they said that wasn't possible. It is now over 2 hours later and we have seen groups of 6 or 7 be seated over us, we are so disappointed. To be rated as one of the top restaurants and to be treated this way is terrible. Oh I forgot to mention we had a 7 month old and they didn't care to accommodate us on that either. I do not recommend if you have a group larger than 4. The staff is awful. Forgot to add we grabbed a table FOR ALL OF US in the "appetizer only" area which was a table away from the dining area and not until we all were getting up to leave that they allowed us to order food from there.

I'm I'mNice outdoor atmosphere. I got there around 5 so the band hadn't started, but I was completely fine with that. Service was friendly. I got the grouper fingers which came with a choice of side and the salad bar and bread. The sweet potatoe was cooked perfectly and they even brought brown sugar with it. The grouper was fried and tasted very good. The portion was pefect for me but might be too small for a big eater. I would definitely return and recommend this place. It is off the beaten path, I happened to stumble upon it when I happened to turn down the road it was on looking for something else and just exploring Marco Island. I am so glad I found it and decided to try it out!

Underwhelming after a long wait. They talk a lot about the salad bar, but my small high school had more items on their salad bar. I did like the blackened grouper sandwich. Those are a dime a dozen in FLA.

This is a rustic fun place on Marco Island. The salad bar is really good and surprisingly so was the bread. I was truly impressed. Then the piece de resistance was this amazing shrimp burger. It was absolutely delicious. I never even saw it on any menu anywhere. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat and prices reasonable. I really enjoyed this place and I'm a tough cookie when it comes to food!

There not too many choices to be right on the water so for view, great bar, tiki atmosphere, and great live music 7 days a week this is the place. The food was ok, good cheese sticks. Our waiter was really fun and got us mosquito spray since we got attacked when we first got there. Some people and our daughter were dancing to the music. Fun place, ok food.

  • Cherie D.

Loved it. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. Love the view. We had a 30 min wait but it went by fast while watching the boats and fish. We did see some dolphins as well. The salad bar was great and the lg pickles were crisp. The shredded cheese was a little weird though. Our table had the Caribbean baby back ribs, grilled seafood combo platter and kids shrimp basket. Kids basket came with 4 decent size shrimp, taste was great. Ribs were meaty and had a great flavor. The seafood platter was awesome. Everything was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. Service tonight was decent and the key lime pie that I ordered to go didn't make it out the door. We had it gone before leaving. Also the restaurant and the local hotels have an agreement for a free taxi between the 2 places. Great and convenient.

Location is decent, the food is good, and the drink prices are very fair. Try the mahi sandwich and the oysters in the half shell. The crab cakes were good but not amazing. I would go back again but probably for drinks, music, and oysters.

Unimpressive. The scallops had an off taste like some sort of preservative or chemical. The drinks were light and some insects were biting us; had to borrow repellant from another patron.

Came to the Snook for dinner after proposing to my now-fiancé. The calamari was good, and the crab cakes were incredible. I feel like you get your money's worth for the crab cakes unlike a lot of restaurants. The salad bar was so-so. Atmosphere was nice and laid back. This is probably one of the better deals for dinner on Marco Island.

Just ate here for the first time on a Friday night. It's season so it was packed and there was a bit of a wait. No problem though, it was nice to walk around the docks. They have a ton of catfish swimming around that you can feed, which is fun for the kids. My four-year old had a blast. We ate outside, great ambiance. Lively and fun. We loved the live music. Food was good, I wasn't expecting anything amazing. I'm not a seafood person, so I got a jerk chicken sandwich and a baked potato. Both were great. Each meal includes a trip to the salad bar which is pretty basic. They have a giant barrel of pickles that are really great by the salad bar, don't miss those. My boyfriend got ribs which he had no complaints about and we both ordered frozen drinks. He had a frozen vodka lemonade that was amazing. This is basically a pretty simplistic place when it comes to food..don't expect to have the best meal of your life...but if you want a decent meal that isn't overpriced, on the water in a lively environment, this place is for you. I can see bringing out of town friends here for a Florida style food experience.

It's nothing fancy a local joint with tourist prices The food and fish was plain ol good, should be less expensive But we wanted local and bc it had zero atmosphere and the food was good I would go back for a quick lunch but nothing to brag about or refer friends too Salad bar was a little suspicious

Great place to eat on the water. They had a guy singing to back up tracks. We met a great couple having dinner with friends. It's a friendly place with good food for the family to enjoy. Recommend their smoothies! Me and my wife had the blacken fish specials. Portions were pretty big and fish was not that spicy. I would go back again.

The service sucked and the food was worse. The only reason it doesn't get one star is because it has a great bar with a view.

Grilled Snapper and Crab Cakes are amazing. I have been here three times and not had an issue with the service. You might need to be patient during peak season during evening hours but it has always been worth the wait. Looking forward to my next time here.

I don't know how this place can only have 1 other review. It's always packed! It's the first place I go when I get to Marco Island. The staff is super friendly, the food is always fresh and good, and the outside bar and view are amazing. Great pirces and good food.

Avoid the salad bar! The salad bar items are overloaded with sugar. All of the prepared salads were overly sweet -the bean salad, green peas, Cole slaw, etc. The blackened grouper sandwich was tasty but even the bun was too sweet. Why are you overloading everything with sugar?? Plus the cocktails were weak.

Hands down best seafood on Marco island. Salad bar comes with and is a must. Problem is, Snook Inn is packed from open to close, so be prepared to wait! Parking lot is small, so walk or ride bike if feasible.

You can't come to Marco Island without going to the Snook Inn for a meal! ... on the water, great casual ambiance. The food is excellent. I have been coming here for 25 years and have never been disappointed. I was there last night for the broiled combination seafood dinner ... excellent. I'm going back there tonight for the Surf & Turf! The salad bar is wonderful ... filled with many delicious home made selections. The garlic pickles are to die for! Do yourself a favor and go there!

This is a drinks only as we didn't get any food. Atmosphere = 5 stars Music = 5 stars Drinks = 2 stars Wait staff = 4 stars Drinks are around $8 - $10 and come in solo cups that are weak, not tasty, and we ended up leaving after choking down half our beverages.

Upon arrival I was seated immediately, note that this was in August and it is normally packed during Spring Break. I ordered the prime rib (only available on Saturday), which was about average, it has lots of fat though. The onion rings and peel and eat shrimp were excellent as well as the fries. The only complaints that I had were that the restaurant is a little crowded and that makes it tough to get from your seat to the salad bar.

Yelp searched Marco Island while looking for a good place for dinner and stumbled across Snook Inn. I'll keep this short and sweet. I love Snook Inn, if I lived anywhere near Marco Island I would be there at least three days a week. No joke. The bar is cool and the drinks are stiff with a capital S. There was pretty decent live music and the place wasn't too noisy. The salad bar was pretty sweet with regular salad, potato salad, noodley salad and de-licious giant pickles. The boyfriend got the all you can eat ribs which pretty much melted in your mouth while I got the BEST thing I literally may have ever eaten in my entire life. I know that is a huge statement but listen to what it was and you will agree. Scallop stuffed jumbo shrimp (fresh, of course) wrapped in bacon, lightly floured, DEEP FRIED with Hollandaise sauce for dipping. Holy balls. To top it off we went on a gorgeous day and had a lovely table right up against the pier and watched the prettiest sunset ever. Oh, and there were dolphins. This place may be magic.

My sister and I were here in April '14 and it was a perfect time to go. This is a fun place to eat or even just go for drinks! The on the water location was beautiful for dinner, we sat by the water. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive, which I really appreciate and is a big plus for me when eating out! The food was good, the atmosphere was a happy hour party one, but NOT inappropriate for kids, there were lots of families there and it was still fun for us. The drink menu was really great, I can't wait to go back there on our next vacation!

I read great things about the Snook Inn before we left Jersey and when the concierge threw it out as his first choice (I had asked him for a recommendation for casual seafood), I knew it was the choice for the night. Located on the northernmost part of the Island, the Snook Inn is off the beaten path a bit, but very easy to find. With an outside bar and dining area, indoor dining, and an outside upper deck area, there are plenty of options-and lots of great views. Since we were all pretty toasty from the sun we actually chose to sit in the AC inside, but got a seat by the dockside anyway, so we still had a great view. Luckily the 30 minutes the hostess quoted us turned out to be less than fifteen. And seriously, if you sit on the dockside you may see dolphins...not bad if your kids are with you. Our waitress was super busy, but super nice and pretty attentive. My wife and I had gotten drinks at the bar so when she came over to us she was able to jump right into the specials and options. All the meals included a basic salad bar, which you just don't see much anymore, so we took advantage. My daughter went with an order of their Little Neck clams for an appetizer...she cold probably eat them every meal...and they were perfect-tender and not overdone. She also had the Grouper fingers and fries-and she said it was the best fried fish she's ever had. My wife and son had the catch of the day which happened to be either snapper or grouper and they both went with the grouper (one broiled one blackened). An amazing choice as both meals were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My wife will hammer a place for mediocre fish and she LOVED her meal here...both had baked potatoes as well. A word of warning on the potatoes-I think they cook them in a nuclear reactor-they come out HOT so be careful openeing them up... The waitress talked me into the seafood buffet. The buffet had a ton of choices and included 3-4 different types of baked fish, some fried seafood options (frog legs and shrimp were delicious), oysters, stuffed clams, mussels, peel-and-eat shrimp, chowder, corn and potatoes (or as I call them-FILLER), etc., but I immediately locked onto the steamed clams and the crab legs. At $29.99 it was a little pricey, but dammit I KNOW I can eat $30 worth of steamers and crab legs-crap, I can do it without really trying. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I easily had 40+ clams plus three very large plates full of crab legs. You do the math-Sarge won this battle. I could have done another plate full of legs and clams, but I think my wife was horrified enough. I came to get my money's worth! So let's wrap this one up in a nice little bow. Snook Inn-great casual seafood dining, great bar area with live entertainment (beers are a little pricey), awesome waitress, food is a little pricey (but you have ot expect that on vacation, don't you?), but good eats-really good eats. If I come back to Marco I will defintely be back because this place was worth the money.

I've frequented the Snook Inn for nearly 20 years. It's the best darn salad bar, simply and comes with most of the entrées - it's simple and fresh. It's a bit pricey, but the place to be for happy hour. It's not a cheap place, but it's good and consistent. They have true dockside service, which makes it a great place for nautical visits on your boat. Best of all the clean/cook your catch with all the fixin's' which makes it really cool. It's a tourist trap so be sure to pay a little extra for the ambiance.

This review comes after more than one trip to the Snook Inn. I've been traveling to Marco Island now for about 2x a year for the past 2yrs w/ my boyfriend and his family. My boyfriends grandmother has a house on Marco Island and its been in the family since the 80's so they are seasoned Marco Islanders. Every trip we always go to Snook at least once during our visit to the Island. Let me start off by saying the only good thing about this restaurant/bar is the view of the water. If you'd like to enjoy a nice sunset and occasionally get a glimpse of some dolphins playing in the water nearby while enjoying some cold drinks, this is your place. I really like the bar outside and the views are great. However, DO NOT come here expecting a great meal. That being said...THE FOOD: My most recent trip to the Snook I decided to try the Broiled Fish Combo. The jumbo shrimp were so overcooked they were the size of a quarter. There was nothing jumbo about them. No one warned me that my grouper would still have some bones in it. The scallops that came incl in the meal were about the only thing that were cooked correctly. Nothing special about the fries either. THE SERVICE: Our waitress had major attitude. I believe her name was Natalie. She didn't introduce herself when she came up to our table to take our drink orders. When she came back with our drinks she seemed very annoyed that we all weren't ready to spit out our orders to her as fast as she may liked. My boyfriend and I took his grandfather and his friend out for dinner on one of our last days of our trip. It was very disappointing the way we were treated when the waitress seemed so annoyed that the elderly with us weren't extremely prompt in making their food selections. The restaurant wasn't even that busy the day we were there so the poor service on her part was just unacceptable. I'm sure ill be visiting the Snook Inn again on my next trip to Marco Island but I definitely will not be eating there again.

My wife and I were told that we needed to check this place out while on our honeymoon. It was pretty good, though it certainly didn't blow me away. I only have one meal to go off of, so I'm just going off of first impressions here. It was a fun environment. Right on the water, outdoor (and indoor) seating, thatched roofs, big bar, fun music. Our waiter was a really nice older guy that had fun with us throughout the meal. Snook Inn is one of the dozen places on Marco that claim to have the best grouper sandwich, so I decided to so with it. Being grouper, it was rather bland and not much to write home (or a review) about. I enjoyed my meal, for the most part, and my wife did too. It seemed a little pricey for what it was, but that could have certainly been influence of the surroundings as well. Maybe check this place out on a nice evening for a late dinner, followed by drinks. I imagine the environment and live music would really give this place a boost!

Buffet was refreshed on the constant! Every time I looked over there was more food being brought out.

3.5 stars for outdoors is more like it, but only 2.5 stars for indoors. The whole reason to come here is being able to sit outside by the water...drive up by boat or car. This place is a Marco Island tradition and I always come here when I visit Marco each year. I definitely don't understand why anyone would come here and sit inside. They frequently have pleasant, islandy outdoor entertainment. The ladies that work the outdoor bar have worked here forever. The scoop on the food...most of the food is fine, but really nothing memorable. The salad bar,, which comes with all the meals, is just okay. I think their best dressing is the creamy Italian-- it looks pink and I think it frequently gets missed, but you should try it. After eating here for over 20 years, I now have a meal that I always order and I always leave happy. I highly recommend the fried grouper sandwich, and I like to add Swiss and sautéed onions, and then top it off with malt vinegar and tartar sauce...getting hungry just telling you about it. You can get fries with it, which are just okay fries, but I have switched to getting the red beans and rice, and adding a little tabasco sauce, and I love it. If you are a dessert lover, I highly endorse the peanut butter pie. See you at the Snook!

ATmosphere is the best thing going for the place, the dinner was not worth $72. Seafood combo platter was basic, the "crab stuffing" tasted like dry wall adhesive with basically no crab in it and the "homemade" desserts were most likely out of a box from something frozen. Service was nice but don't expect to share anything without being charge alot. My wife and I were charged $7 to split a $24 entree. The fish dip was most certainly pre made from a can or out of a jar, was not the impressed

Service was great! Our waitress was happy smiling and attentive. The Seafood platter was....ok, scallops and grouper were good. The mahi mahi was tough and the stuffed carb meat was . a lot of stuffing.......mushy. The breaded pork tenderloin looked good but this was also tough and hard to chew! Seriously was like eating leather. Salad bar is good, nice variety and is constantly kept freshened and clean. Everyone who works there is great! Surprised about the food!

We pulled up to the dock here in our rental pontoon and had a great lunch. Its a very big place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Large salad bar that comes with your meal choice so that's a nice bonus. Of course they are known for the grouper sandwich and that is exactly what I ate! Wonderful and huge. Not over fried or breaded it was just perfect! The menu looked full of decent choices but I had to stick with the classic sandwich. My kids enjoyed this place too and they are 7 and 10 years old so its good for picky kids and offers seating on the water to look outside while beating the heat. We didn't see any manatees but did see some dolphins going by.

This restaurant came recommended by our condo complex. It has nice atmosphere, that is until the service starts. Everyone we encountered here acted as if we were a bother. The service is horrible. The food was good but not great. We left feeling annoyed and the view and food were ruined by the staffs attitudes.

We came to Marco Island on a family vacation with my parents-- who recommended this place at the beginning. We all went on a Friday evening. Granted, it was very busy this evening and I'm sure the waiters and waitresses were quite stressed. Our waitress was curt, not very friendly at all when asked what beer she would recommend (she shrugged and said 'I've never had a beer in my life') and we had to wait a very long time for our drinks and check. They have an impressive menu and people were lined up for the seafood buffet which, from the menu, seemed to feature all different types of fish. However, when I checked it out, I was surprised to see the food looked simply... unimpressive. I ordered a combo of tilapia, grouper, and crab cakes instead. When fish doesn't taste fresh, you know it. The entire plate had a very old, ripe taste about it, I hate to say. I didn't have the desire to eat more than half the dish. I'm not sure if the fish was frozen ahead of time, or if it was sitting out quite a long while-- but it was certainly not fresh, which was what I was expecting for a place located right on the water. There was hardly any crab in those crab cakes. Most of it was bread-filler and as a result was soggy and bland. The highlight of the evening was the live music. There was a one-man band performing his guitar who was immensely sweet and talented. He had a calm, good rapport with the room. That was very enjoyable! Overall, after all the hype from my parents and having my hopes up for some excellent food, I was disappointed to say the least.

This was a big disappointment. I had two people tell me "You've got to go to Snook's!" I've had better fish in Chicago. The wife and I both ordered the seafood combo to try a sampling of grouper, mahi mahi, crab cake, scallops and shrimp. Both fish fillets were small and overcooked. The shrimp were not what I expected in terms of size given we were right on the gulf. The salad bar was nothing to write home about although the pickles were good. I really don't enjoy writing lackluster reviews but I can't figure out what all the fuss is about when it comes to The Snook Inn.

Update: I left a detailed message in the voicemail of the manager/owner (as prompted by the Snook's phone message), the day I wrote this review. Never acknowledged. Subtracting a star.
